 EXPEDITION ASSESSOR ACCREDITATION

From January 2009 all Expedition Assessors will need to be accredited by the DofE. Generally people will fall into one of three categories:

Current Wild County Assessors
Holders of current Wild Country Assessor status can transfer automatically to the new scheme by completing a delegate
course application form. The Wild Country Assessor scheme will cease in 2009.

Existing Experienced Assessors
People with at least three years experience can become accredited by completing a short "Transitional Course" without the need to go through the full accreditation process. This is a temporary arrangement for until the end of 2009 only. After 1st January 2010 even experienced assessors will be required to do the full course.

New Assessors
Anyone with less than three years experience of assessing will need to do the full course which consists of an on-line learning module, an introduction to the DofE, a full day Assessor course and a supported assessment.
