 WHAT IS THE DofE?

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is for all young people, whatever their background or ability, between the ages of 14 and 25.

It gives opportunities for personal achievements, adventure, community and social involvement and a widening of interests.

There are three awards - Bronze for those over 14; Silver for those over 15; and Gold for those over 16.

To qualify for an Award, a young person must undertake an activity in each of four sections - Volunteering, Expeditions, Skills and Physical, plus at Gold a Residential section.
